A Weekend At the Movies
So I've already fallen into the bad habit of not updating this... I let a full week go by! Last week was really busy though... I barely had time to sleep - or think! Well, I guess I did both of those things...
You know, one of the biggest perks of my job is that I get to see a lot of movies! So I thought - why not do a review every now & then of the movies I see. So... Here we go:
A movie that I saw last weekend was...
Despite not being a HUUUUUGE Ellen Page fan, I actually really enjoyed this film. I don't know if I've ever watched a movie about Rollerball and this one was a good one to start with. The movie flowed pretty well and had a great soundtrack! It definitely wasn't a boring movie!

This week, I went to a screening of "Couples Retreat"
I was really excited about seeing this movie - I feel like it has been advertised for for a LONG time... I thought it looked really funny and I knew that it was written by Vince Vaughn and Jon Favreau - who also did Swingers (which I love). Well, unfortunately I was extremely let down by this film. If I hadn't known it was written by Vaughn and Favreau, I would have assumed it was written by two 13 year old girls. In addition to being totally unrealistic and unbelievable, I felt like it was only directed towards ONE demographic - 30 year old unhappy married couples. I probably laughed out loud maybe 1 time throughout the whole movie... and I think that was when Ken Jeong was on the screen.

Saturday, I went and saw the new Coen brothers film
I..... Hmmmmmm. I am still not sure if I know what to think about this film. I don't really know if it's a movie that you can say that you liked... It was wonderfully made and that acting was excellent, but the story was such that it kind of makes you sad in a way. I mean the movie itself is about a man's life that is falling apart before his eyes. How happy can you make that out to be?? I might have to see this film again to really understand/appreciate it.
FOR NOW: B
Over the weekend, I watched the new film "Zombieland"
This movie was great! It was fun, the acting was good, it had great story line, and it was a completely satisfying 88 minutes. Usually I'm not big on zombie movies, but I really did enjoy this one. And... It had an awesome cameo!

I'm Famous!!!
Well not really...
But I am on IMDB! Exciting right?? I mean I can't help but feel just a LITTLE bit cooler for it... I mean, I'm no Robert Patterson or Pattenson or however you say it.... and I guess there are EIGHT other Ryan Clarks on IMDB..... but oh well! I do have this to show for myself... and this too... Ohhhh the good ol' days.. And then there was of course my work in that one movie...
Ok... Ok.. In all seriousness though, my co-worker Adam and I were featured in a Tonight Show web video recently - Which was pretty cool.
Today was a craaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaazy day at work. Very very busy! We had an animals segment on the show today - which always makes for a crazy day. There was a black bear in the studio today! A black bear!! It looked a little bit like this:
Only more realistic... Ha - that kind of reminds me of THIS news story.

"Are You Out Of Your Trees, Sir?!"
For those of you who didn't quite recognize the quote from above, that was from the 1994 movie Clifford starring Martin Short
As a kid, this was one of my FAVORITE movies!! Which is kind of strange considering how dark the film is. In fact, I recently went back and watched it and realized just HOW MUCH of a black comedy it really is. And no - not the Tyler Perry kind of black comedy - just the dark humor kind.
Here's another poster I found from the movie:
Ha!! Man, I hope they didn't actually use this poster to promote the movie... Both of their heads look so deformed!! It looks like they're on backwards!
So, you're probably saying to yourself, "What's the big deal about Clifford? Why are you bringing that up today??"
WELLLLLLL - Maybe because MARTIN SHORT IS ON OUR SHOW TODAY!! This is very exciting! He's definitely one of my favorite comedic actors of all time. Check THIS out.

I'm A Happy Camper!!
Well, today started out as just an ordinary day at work... a few meetings... some notes to type up... a few phone calls here and there...
AND THEN THIS HAPPENED...
I walked away from my desk to take care of something and when I returned - THIS was on my desk:AHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's a huge book of Star Wars collectibles! I know, I know - Nerd Alert! But hey, I love Star Wars and I ain't afraid to admit it! Somebody sent this to one of the researchers here on the show and that particular person knows how much I love Star Wars and so they thought it would be a nice gesture to give it to me. Cool huh? I mean there is stuff in this book I didn't even know existed! Like this:
It's an R2-D2 Toilet Scrubber!! Can you believe it! Who knew cleaning toilets could be so fun?!
So today's show is looking like a good one. There's funny bits, some pretty guests (Rebecca Romijn) and some good ol' fashioned guitar playin.' Monsters of Folk are the guest band today. They're somewhat of a 'super-group' combining the sounds of My Morning Jacket, Bright Eyes, and M.Ward - all in one!
Click HERE to see a little sample of their stuff:
Don't get too excited - it's not a music video or performance. It's just their picture with music playing over it.
I'm excited to get to watch The Biggest Loser tonight. Even though I can't even make it through an entire episode without leaving my apartment and going to the gym... Maybe that's what they're TRYING to do with the show. If that is the case... it's working!

Mondays should be Fundays
Have you ever been so tired at work and feel like you could just fall asleep anywhere?? Today is one of those days for me. I'm not exactly sure why - I guess I just got all Emmy'd out last night!! Speaking of the Emmy's - Conan didn't win... But the Daily Show did - and I GUESS they're funny over there (but not funnier than us).
This weekend was pretty calm and uneventful! But those weekends are sometimes the best, ya know! I did get some headshots made on Saturday morning. My good friend Vuong did them for me and I think he did a great job (even though I haven't seen the finished product yet). Whenever he gets them to me, maybe I'll put a couple up on here. I don't know exactly WHAT I'm going to do with them... But I think pretty much everyone that lives in LA carries a headshot in their back pockets - so I guess I'll join the crowd!
Not a whole lot going at work today. But we do have a guy on the show today who deep fries EVERYTHING!!! - Chicken, Oreos, Twinkies, Pepsi, Watches... Wait, Watches??? It's true! This guy will deep fry anything you put in front of him. I'd like to see him deep fry a deep fryer. Mmmmm try to wrap your cerebro around that pensó, amigo!!
So lately, I've been obsessed with THIS web video:
The video itself doesn't make me laugh as much as just the fact that somebody brought their dog to work one day AT A NEWSTATION!! Who does that??
Anyway, that's your video of the day. And that's all for now - see ya tomorrow!
